My family is trying to find a home to rent (long term-many years) in the Gig Harbor High School area.
About us:
Husband (41) Wife (41) Daughter (12) Daughter (9) one dog (10- house broken and well behaved)
We have bought and sold many homes in the last 15 years - all have been remodels
Moved from VA last September and currently renting a home in E Bremerton (this was done sight unseen). We have since been doing our research and have decided to move to Gig Harbor.
I am currently the Branch Manager of a Government Contractor and my wife telecommutes from home for the company in VA that she has been with for 6 years.
I could not sell our home in VA and our rental in Ohio (currently they are in foreclosure)
We have 2 vehicle payments and a RV payment that are current.
We make over $100k a year between the both of us.
Currently we are renting through Pickett Properties for $1800 a month and pay before the due date.
What we are looking for:
3+ bedrooms with at least 2 full baths
Place to park a 32' RV
2 car garage
fireplace
office, study or very large master bedroom for my wife to work
small yard
Long term - would love to stay until my youngest graduates from High School (9 years)
AND WITHIN THE GIG HARBOR HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
Please let me know if you or anyone in your office can help us. We are looking to be in by August due to the School schedule.

Greetings from Houston, TX! My name is Aaron and I will be moving your direction during the first week of July. I have accepted a job at the hospital in Lakewood, but would like to live in Gig Harbor.
My wife Lindsay and her parents are planning a visit to look for rental housing next weekend (May 21 in the afternoon through all day on the 22nd). She would like to tour several of the properties on your website during her visit.
We are a family of four (2 children) with a mature dog and cat (which obviously limits our selection -- though we are willing to work with the home owner to pay a pet deposit or other solution). The dog is extremely well behaved and the cat is old, short-haired, and sleeps all day.
We are meticulous home-owners and would take care of any property as if it were our own.

Tom and I both have Parkinsons and I recently had DBS surgery. I am on SSI and get child support for my 3 kids. Tom is on long term disability. We are currently renting a 3 bedroom house for 1245 but we have to pay late every month due to when we get our monthly income. The property management company has been unwilling to adjust the due date so we pay over 1300 each month.
We have been looking for a 4+ bedroom house (preferably a rambler due to our disability) and need to be in the Peninsula High School service area. Yes, I know, that greatly limits our options, adding to that we would not like to be out on the KP. Ideally we would like to buy but a long term rental would also work for us.

I was on your website and I noticed that there are lease purchase option houses available. We have been very interesested for quite a while. We have been homeowners our whole lives and due to a job change that brought us back to WA, we are in a very small rental that does not suit our family of 6.
We left our dream home in AZ, due to the market we could not sell it in 2007. We currently have renters in there who are not reliable from month to month. They have caused our credit to go downhill. We were looking into some of the new construction homes (Bennet etc.) We are looking for something a little newer and have had no luck, even just to rent. We have never been in a situation like this, and looking to get out. - Alex

We are hoping for a smaller house in the Gig Harbor/Port Orchard area. I will be working in Bremerton and my wife will be in Gig Harbor or Port Orchard. We have two small dogs (<25lbs) so a house with a fenced yard would be ideal. They are well trained, however, so we are also open to condo/townhomes/apratments as well. We are looking in the $1000-1500 range. After about 6 months, we will be looking to buy in that same area so we are hoping for a shorter term lease.
Thanks! - Homer

My husband (who is an airline pilot) and I are interested in leasing a home in Gig Harbor or Fox Island for at least a year. We have grown children who would not be living with us, and one 25 lb dog. We'd LOVE to have a waterview and be close to the Harbor, but are flexible. We'd need at least 3 bedrooms. We could pay anywhere between $2000 and $3000 per month. If we love it like we think we will, we will buy a home once the lease is up. Any help you could give us would be much appreciated! Thanks so much. - Kathleen

We are a family looking for a 5bdrm with office space, on 1+ acres on a quiet road in Gig Harbor or Fox Island. We have 2 spayed & very well behaved house cats. We'd like to rent/lease for a year or two, then have the option to purchase at the end of the rental period. I own a house I've rented until next December, then will be putting it back on the market to sell. Because of the uncertain housing market we need to wait to purchase until after my house sells. Once my house sells, we'll be able to purchase another home. We'd like to pay $2000-$2500/mo rent. - Maura

We are planning on relocating from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Tacoma within the next few months for a new job. We are in the process of putting our home on the market here so we are looking for a house to rent in the Tacoma area preferably the Gig Harbor area until our house sells and to allow ourselves sufficient time to get familiarized with the Tacoma area. We are empty nesters with two labrador retrievers and would need a yard, ideally a fenced-in yard. - Larry & Julie

We are a retired couple, former Kitsap residents, living in Palm Desert, CA. We are looking for a furnished rental Apr. 15 to Sept. 15 in the Gig Harbor area. We have references in the area as we have rented there summers for several years. We have family in the greater area, one of which is a Bremerton P.D. Detective, who could look at a property for us if you have one available. We would like to keep the rent to around $1,000/month, which I'm aware is limiting in finding rentals in the Gig Harbor area.
Of a personal nature, I worked for 3 Deans of Students at Olympic College in Bremerton for 13 years, and Jack retired from the Marines after 22 years as the CO at Bangor, was the baseball coach and assistant football coach at O.C. for a time and coached the Bremerton Post 68 boys for several years. Thanks for your assistance. - Diane

We are previous homeowners (2) in Gig Harbor ..Excellent credit (785) stable jobs. One child. Non Smoking. Incredible references from business owners and town leaders. Love gardening. We have 1 cat who is declawed and spayed has never done any damage of any kind in the rentals here in Chicago or the custom homes we sold in Gig Harbor. We are looking for a very clean, updated home that is Non smoking at least 3 bedroom and 2500 sq feet and under $2,300. - Stephanie
